Tim Crangle is the primary audiologist and clinical director of Helix Hearing.
Tim is originally from Lisburn, completing his education at Wallace High School in 2009 before going to Queens University Belfast to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Technology. He then moved to Scotland in 2015 and was introduced to audiology whilst working in a private optician. He returned to university and completed a Master of Science degree at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh.
On graduating, he worked for five years with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The first two years were spent in the prestigious Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, carrying out routine and complex hearing assessment and provision of hearing aids with patients of all ages and requirements, as well as counselling and supporting the demands of a busy ENT clinic. He then progressed to the position of Specialist Audiologist at the New Victoria Infirmary where his duties were expanded to support management, as well as conducting tinnitus and BAHA (bone anchored hearing aid) clinics. Working with the NHS has provided Tim with a strong foundation in supporting patients with ranging complexity.
Tim happily returned to Northern Ireland in September 2025 to work in a private clinic in Belfast but has always aspired to having his own clinic. As of July 2026, Tim proudly brings you Helix Hearing to provide a high standard of clinical care that he sees fit.
